A downloadable mod

Galaxy Trucker is a space-themed tabletop game where the player takes on the role of a truck driver delivering goods in the universe, and has to go through two phases of building trucks/driving trucks to make deliveries, with the player with the highest score winning in the end.

Based on the original rules, I designed two simple player rules to enhance the immersion of the player in the truck driving phase and to make the phase more "spacey".

Mod 1:  Side engine

Removing the original rule of not being able to mount engines on the side, players can now mount engines on the left or right side of the ship, with the rest of the mounting rules remaining unchanged.

Side engines are considered 0 for the purpose of calculating engine power, and in the event of a meteorite/cannon strike from the front or rear, the player may choose to spend a point of power to activate either the left or right engine and move the ship one square in the opposite direction (with the original hit zone moving one square to the active engine).

Example: John had installed an engine on the left side of his Star Truck when he was building it, during the delivery phase later on he had the misfortune to roll a 7 when faced with a shot from the back, if it had hit then this would have destroyed the last of his rear engines (game over) so John opted to use a little bit of power and activate the left engine, this would have resulted in the shot's hit point being changed to a 6 and he can keep the game.

Mod 2: Blocking zone

Each time the player completes a stack of event cards, a blocking zone event is executed in which the player takes on the role of a truck driver who travels through a variety of space junk and meteorite-heavy areas.

Entering the Blocking zone event is considered to be turning over 5 event cards for a frontal attack of one large meteorite, and before settling any events, hand out to each player a number of cubes equal to their maximum number of engines (not counting flanking engines), and each player decides for themselves how many cubes to choose to keep in their hand and disclose at the same time, which will be the speed at which they will travel in the face of the first meteorite.

Move the player's ship model on the main board map according to the speed chosen by each player (starting with the first player), then settle the first meteorite starting with the player who is now at the front of the line.

SPECIAL RULES: In Blocking zone, when any player chooses to prevent damage by attacking a large meteorite with a Cannon, two effects are triggered:

1- The one player in front of this player receives a Small Meteorite attack from behind.

2- This Large Meteor is treated as a Small Meteor by all players behind this player.

After all players have settled the first card, repeat all actions until all cards have been settled.
